Will do. I am a news junkie anyway, so any new perspectives are welcome. Since I was addressing TV in my post, that is why I mentioned the coverage. That and Britney are all they've got right now!

I agree with what you say about campaign coverage--that's why its' important to seek your information from wide and diverse sources. There's a new site up I like that's devoted to offering a different slant on the news, you might want to check it out:

Canadian-based and a helluva lot more entertaining than NEWSWEEK. Give it a peek...

I have a lot of sympathy for the writers who are striking ... I'm just saying there are some talented people out there who would gladly take their place. Plus, I am writing from a TV viewer's point of view, which is entirely selfish. I have no argument with their demands. I agree that the producers and TV companies make more than a fair share, just as the music labels have been doing for years. I would like to see a day when the artist actually profits from his talent. Sadly, in these times, I think one would be lucky just to have a job doing what they want to do.

"When are the writers going to realize the world goes on without them"--an interesting point of view but when you actually look into what the writers are asking for, their demands seem pretty minuscule compared to the massive earnings of the producers and film and TV companies. The strike will soon be over because some of the independent companies are settling with writers and that puts the big boys in an awkward position. The writers will (largely) win because of the indie producers and more power to them. Authors get by on little enough as it is--any improvement of their situation is a good one and I wish them all the best...
